Short answer
Your SolarEdge inverter tells you two separate things: whether it's producing power, and whether it's sending data to the internet. Those are handled independently, and a problem with one doesn't affect the other — so an inverter can be quietly making power all day while your app shows nothing at all.
Reading the inverter directly is the fastest way to tell which of the two you're dealing with. It takes about a minute, from the ground, without touching anything but a button or a sensor pad.
Look, don't operate. Read the lights and the screen — that's it. Never open the inverter, and never move the DC disconnect or safety switch on the bottom of the unit, even if something online tells you to "cycle" it. Those switches are ours to operate. Everything in this article is safe with the covers on and the switches untouched.
Inverters without a screen: read the three lights
Newer SolarEdge inverters have no display — just indicator lights on the front panel.

| Red | A fault. Note it and contact us. Don't try to clear it yourself. |
Green on, blue off is the common one: you're making power, the data just isn't getting out. That's an internet problem — see I changed my internet — what do I need to do?
Everything off in the middle of the day means the inverter isn't running. Check first whether the whole house has power, then contact us.
Everything off at night is normal. The inverter sleeps when the sun goes down.
Inverters with a screen: find the S_OK line
Older units have a small LCD display. Waking it depends on which generation you have:
- A-series inverters — quickly press the green button located between the inverter and the lower DC disconnect cabinet. A short press only; don't hold it, and don't touch the disconnect itself.
- HD-Wave inverters — tap the "Up" or "Down" sensor on the front of the unit.
Tap through the screens until you reach the status display, and look for two things:
- <S_OK> — the inverter is connected to the SolarEdge monitoring server. If it's missing, that's a communication problem, not a production problem.
- Pac[W] — the AC power being produced right now, in watts. A number here on a sunny day means your system is working, whatever the app says.
Write down or photograph what you see before you call us. "Green light on, no blue, screen shows Pac 3400W but no S_OK" tells us in one sentence what would otherwise take ten minutes of questions.
Common combinations, and what to do

About error codes
SolarEdge inverters report a lot of codes, and most of them are informational rather than alarming — the inverter noting a grid voltage excursion or a momentary condition and carrying on. A code appearing once and clearing is usually nothing. A code that persists, or one that comes with production actually stopping, is worth a call.
Give us the exact code when you contact us. "Error 3x6B" or "Error 186" is something we can look up; "an error" isn't.
Where the panel-level data went
SolarEdge systems use a power optimizer behind each panel, and mySolarEdge can show you each one individually — but only if the physical layout of your array has been mapped in the monitoring platform. If your app shows a system total but no panel-by-panel view, that mapping may not be in place. Ask us; it's something we can usually sort out remotely.

Submit a service request online — and if you have your Site ID handy, include it. It lets us pull up your system before we call you back, which usually saves a round trip.
How soon will someone come out? When a visit is needed, we're typically scheduling about two weeks out. That's a typical case rather than a promise — how far you are from us, how full the schedule is that month, and whether a part has to come from Enphase or SolarEdge all move it. If something is urgent or unsafe, tell us when you get in touch and we'll treat it differently.
